Yediot Aharonot, Israel’s leading selling newspaper, recently listed David Ziv as one of the top15 CEO’s in the country in a special feature in its financial section. David Ziv was appointed Managing Director & CEO of Carmel Winery in October 2002. In the last two years he has:
· Bought in new managers & a new team of young, highly qualified winemakers; Appointed a new winemaking consultant from California
· Introduced a new grading for vineyards & payment schedule for growers with the emphasis on quality
· Introduced a new single vineyard label – Ramat Arad, Zarit etc
· Launched a new joint venture boutique winery, Yatir Winery
· Built two other boutique wineries – at Zichron and Ramat Dalton in the Upper Galilee
· Formed a consortium of Israel’s finest boutique wineries, ‘Handcrafted Wines of Israel’ to advance exports.
· Changed the name of the company from Carmel Mizrahi to Carmel Winery.
