Boutique Wineries
Many boutique wineries, even if they do not have a visitor’s center, will be open during Shabbat for tastings and to give tourists the opportunity to buy their wines. They are also likely to open for pre-arranged tours, but you will need to telephone in advance.
For more information, the book “Shvill Ha’Yayin 2” (The Wine Route) is recommended. It lists details of wineries, addresses etc. It is published by Cordinata, Tel Aviv, Tel. 03 5226855. It is available in all Steimatzky Book Shops. However the book is in Hebrew only.
For those wanting information about the wineries in English, “Rogov’s Guide To Israeli Wines 2006” is recommended. It is published by Toby Press.
