Grand Sabra has won a silver medal at the International Wines and Spirits Competition in London. Grand Sabra is an orange brandy liqueur made from fresh kumquats macerated in Carmel’s 777 Brandy. The brandy was aged for three years in small French oak barrels previously used for maturing Carmel wines. Sabra Liqueurs – ‘The Liqueurs of Israel’ – have had great success at the IWSC winning three gold medals and two silver in recent years. The IWSC is arguably the world’s leading competition for spirits and liqueurs and many of the world’s most recognizable brands take part. There are three liqueurs in the Sabra range: Grand Sabra – 40% Alc Sabra Chocolate Orange – 30% Alc Sabra Coffee – 30% Alc Sabra was launched as a premium liqueur brand by the Bronfman family, owners of the drinks giant Seagram, in the 1960’s. The unique bottle was a based on a Phoenician flask found in a Tel Aviv museum. Sabra Liqueurs make the perfect after dinner drink, to be sipped neat or served over ice. They may be used for cooking, making cocktails or given as a gift. The liqueurs come in stylish black gift boxes, each featuring images of a different Israeli sea: The Mediterranean, The Dead Sea and The Sea of Galilee.  August 2007
